We Are Blessed From the Foundation of the World. Ephesians 1:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him.

  1. We are blessed with every Spiritual blessing, not every fleshly blessing.
  2. We were chosen before the foundation of the world.
  3. That we would be holy and blameless before God.

In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.

  1. Because of God’s love we were predestined to be adopted and His sons through Jesus.
  2. God intention was because of His kind will to the praise of His glorious grace.
  3. God has given it to us freely in Jesus His Beloved Son.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us.

  1. It is through the blood of Jesus that we have been redeemed.
  2. Through His blood we also have the forgiveness of all our Sin.
  3. It is because of the very richness of God’s grace the He has already lavished on us.

In all wisdom and insight He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth.

  1. God has already given us the insight and wisdom and made know to us who believe the mystery of His will.
  2. According to His kindness, in Christ, God let us see His heavenly administration being fulfilled in Christ.
  3. That is summing up all things in Jesus, both here on earth and in heaven.
  4. Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent." John 6:29

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.

  1. It is in Jesus that we obtain our inheritance
  2. We were predestined because of Gods plan not because we wanted it
  3. It is God that works all things in His will not our will.
  4. So the first to put their hope in Christ would be the first to the praise of His glory.

In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation —having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.

  1. In Jesus, after we hear and believe the truth of the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ, we are sealed.
  2. The promise of our inheritance is sealed by the pledge from the Holy Spirit.
  3. Allowing us to see God’s redemption redeeming us to Himself as His own possession to the praise of His glory.

For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.

  1. Paul, after hearing of the love and faith of believers in Ephesus was grateful to no end.
  2. Because of this Paul was continually prayerful that God the Father of glory, would give of the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Himself.
  3. The wisdom and knowledge of God and Jesus Christ can only come by revelation of the Spirit.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

  1. In the flesh we cannot see the things of God. It is only when the eyes of our heart, our spirit, or as some say, the inner man is enlightened can we see what the hope of our calling is.
  2. It is only then that we understand the riches of the glory of His, God’s inheritance to us saints and just how really great Gods power is toward us how believe in Jesus.
  3. It is not because of what we do or don’t do. Nor is it anything we have accomplished.
  4. It is all in accordance with God’s working, God’s strength and God’s might brought about through the finished work of Jesus Christ.
  5. It was God that raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him at His right hand giving Jesus all authority, power and dominion.
  6. Jesus Christ has authority, power, and dominion over every name that is named (everything has a name. So Christ has power over everything.)
  7. Not only does Christ have authority, power, and dominion over all things in this age, now in our time, He had it in the age to come.
  8. Everything has been put in subjection to Christ, under His feet and Jesus is the Head over all things to the Church.
  9. We, all believers are the church and we are Christ’s body. We are the fullness of Christ. And Jesus fills all things.

I pray that in your spirit you have eyes to see and ears to hear and the wisdom to understand. If Christ is the head over all things to the church. And we are His body to the fullness of Him. And if Christ has been all authority, power and dominion over all things, us being His fullness, have through Him all authority, power and dominion.

This is not for the flesh. It is not even possible for the flesh to understand this but when Christ is our life and we walk in the spirit we can do all things through Christ who gives us, His body strength.
